Global Outreach
Serve Around the World
The Carbon Emery Church of Christ in Price, Utah is one of Woodson Chapel’s longest suppported domestic mission points. It is located approximately midway between Provo, Utah and Arches National Park, a popular tourist destination. The current pulpit minister is David Malley, who recently moved there from the Moab, Utah Church of Christ, a congregation that Woodson Chapel has supported financially in the past. Though a relatively small congregation, the Carbon Emery Church of Christ stands ready to spread God’s Word in eastern Utah.

Based out of the West Panama Church of Christ, Gonzalo Salinas and his family (wife, Mayra, and children, Abigail and Daniel) are working to spread the gospel in Panama. During their time at this congregation, the Salinas family has started a ladies’ group and has built up a strong youth ministry. The youth ministry works in local elementary schools, providing Bible lessons for all who want them and clothing and school supplies for needy children. The youth group has even begun conducting mission trips into Panama’s interior to take the gospel to more rural areas. Currently, the West Panama Church of Christ is expanding its classroom space and building a pavilion which will be used to conduct its very popular Vacation Bible School. They plan to make this pavilion available for community gatherings as well. The church there is also working to appoint its first elders and hopes to have qualified men in place soon.

Peter Solomon, India’s National Bible College
Based out of Chennai, India, the National Bible College is under the direction of Dr. Peter Solomon, an award-winning educator. In addition to its main campus in Chennai, the National Bible College has several satellite schools located throughout southern India and Myanmar (formerly known as Burma). Each of these sites is dedicated to training preaching students in their own languages and native villages. This setup provides opportunities for more students to preach, teach, and win souls than simply bringing students to a central setting. In addition to many staying in their native India, graduates of these satellite schools have also gone on to preach in Nepal, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia. Dr. Solomon also hosts a daily TV show dedicated to spreading God’s Word in India. Despite a recent uptick in the persecution of Christians there, he believes that this is a great period of revival for the church in India!
Honduras, Jovenez en Camino
We visit many local churches in the areas, but we also work with 2 different children’s homes, Jovenes en Camino (a boy’s home) and Esperanza Viva (a girls home).
We are also proud to support Kirio Fuentes and his missions in Honduras.
Anameti Akpan, Nigeria
Brother Akpan is affiliated with the World Bible School and its mission to spread the Gospel around the globe. In this capacity, he is active in distributing tracts and correspondence courses throughout Nigeria. He preaches regularly at a local congregation and is deeply interested in personal evangelism. Brother Akpan is a member of the Abak Preachers’ Forum. They held a one day men’s seminar on the topic of “Contending for the Faith.” This seminar was attended by 109 men representing 44 different congregations.
Healing Hands International MAGI Project
The mission of this project is to Make A Godly Impact on children in Honduras, Dominican Republic, Romania, and Texas/Mexico. It is a box filled with a simple message of God's love. The program allows Christians to experience the blessing of giving, while partnering together with local churches and enhancing opportunities in their communities to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Harvest Field Church of Christ - Omaha, Nebraska
Woodson Chapel works with the Harvest Field congregation, a church plant in the western part of Omaha, Nebraska. This part of town is newer with lots of young families and professionals working and living near their meeting location. The evangelist, Russell Bowers, and Rob Sinclair are both graduates of Bear Valley Bible Institute in Denver and are currently helping with teaching and preaching along with other capable men in the congregation. Along with these two men Travis Heppner helps with the teaching and coordinate this part of the effort. Their intent is to grow the congregation and plant additional congregations in the heart of this fast-growing part of town. This congregation of relatively younger members are providing their supporting congregations with an example of energetic outreach based on sound doctrine.
Daybreak Bible College - Zambia
David French has led the effort to create a college for preachers in Zambia for well over 20 years. The Daybreak Bible College is located near the nation’s capitol, Lusaka. Brother French began a unique method of training the Daybreak students about five years ago. To avoid producing preachers that are totally dependent on foreign financial help, he trains each student both in biblical studies and in how to be self-sufficient with water-drip irrigation and the raising of chickens. The graduates are doing the same with the congregations they serve, i.e., teaching the villagers much better farming techniques, as they teach them about Christ.
Woodson Chapel works with Wycliffe Afuma Odwari, who uses Butere, Kenya as his base to lead several other local ministers in establishing and monitoring congregations throughout eastern Kenya. These men visit dozens of villages each year, constantly converting and baptizing many through use of the World Bible School curriculum.
Kenya - Wycliff Afuma Odwari
David Parker has spent over 30 years preaching the gospel in the southern states. Several years ago, he began to work with a new congregation that, despite its location near Birmingham, had no Church of Christ. After making a name with local government, due to the members’ active participation in rescue efforts that followed destructive tornadoes in the area, the Center Point Christians have been able to use local facilities to meet, obtain available property, and start construction of a building to be used for worship and extensive outreach.

Guyana
Our work in Guyana has been to partner with the Claybrick Road Church of Christ in the rural area outside the capital city of Georgetown in conducting VBS classes are the local church building and two of the local public schools. Guyana is unique in that it is an English-speaking South American country with a majority Hindu and Islamic population. We have always been welcomed and treated well by the people there. And, the children are interested and receptive to learning about the Bible and Christianity.
Berkshire Church of Christ - Pittsfield, Massachusetts
Woodson Chapel works with the local minister, J. Cleve Stafford and his wife Melinda, and David and Paula Tarbet, who planted this congregation. Woodson wanted to find a work in the Northeast United States that needed support. This city of over 200,000 has had little opportunity to hear biblical truth.
